How to syndicate Astrobiology Magazine to your own site

To include a syndicated channel of the Astrobiology Magazine on your own page, it is easy to automate the daily updates.

All you have to do to setup the syndicated channel is position the following cut-and-paste HTML javascript tags, wherever you want to position the highlighted story feed.

Simple Syndication Methods:

1) Include the Astrobiology Magazine stories as a javascript table:
<script src="http://www.astrobio.net/news/channel.php?bg=red"></script>

The default color is shown here as a series of red links, but to suit your page layout simply choose a different color for the 'bg=red' part of the tag. For instance, bg=black, bg=#000000, or bg=000000, any of those combinations will render to a black font.

2) The XML-RSS feed for this site in syndication is:
http://www.astrobio.net/news/backend.php

To list the top Astrobiology Magazine stories using an RSS feed, which is an XML file that can be incorporated according to the RSS specification or additional tutorials. An example output can be seen here.

3) Alternatively if you want to include a more specialized i-frame positioning on your site's pages, you can choose to list the stories like many banner ads do it. Include the Astrobiology Magazine stories as an iframe
<iframe border=0 width=200 height=300 src=http://www.astrobio.net/news/astrobio_articles.php></iframe>

4) Finally if your webmaster or server supports the PHP language, you can include the page in PHP with a function statement:
'includes http://www.astrobio.net/news/grab-front1.php';

An example display of the first method to be always current with the syndicated channel is shown below:

That's it. You're now always getting the latest news from the exciting and rapidly changing field of astrobiology.

Download the Astrobiology Magazine to your Desktop

Note: A free downloadable News Feed Reader for Windows machines displays the above XML-RSS feed directly on your desktop as shown in the screenshot below. After downloading (<500 kB), select the Astrobiology Magazine news channel by typing in:
http://www.astrobio.net/news/backend.php
.
